PayPal Transactions CSV to Dashboard

PayPal's activity log is fine for looking up one transaction, but a breakdown by transaction type or status means exporting the history and pivoting it, there's no built-in report for that inside PayPal itself.

Step 1: Export From PayPal

Go to Activity β†’ Statements β†’ Custom, pick a date range, and download the transaction history as CSV. A typical export includes columns like Date, Type, Status, Currency, Gross, Fee, and Net.

Step 2: Pick a Breakdown

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I get this CSV from PayPal?

In your PayPal account, go to Activity β†’ Statements β†’ Custom, choose a date range, and download the transaction history as CSV.

Why might the column names not match exactly?

PayPal's export layout has changed over the years and varies slightly by account type. If the pre-filled row or value field comes up empty, just re-pick the fields inside the pivot after uploading, everything else about the breakdown stays the same.

Need a custom breakdown?

Open Pivot Table directly and pick any rows, columns, and measures from your export.
